The view here is excellent and worth a visit. I started with a bowl of seafood bisque ----very tasty. Then I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was very good, lots of shrimp in a mildly spicy grits in sauce. My wife ordered their specialty, the butterfish and said it was excellent with a very tasty sauce. I would probably give them a 4 star based on the food but it took us so long to get a table (and we had called ahead) that I was in a bad mood while rating. Once we did get a table, Bonnie did an excellent job of serving us. I would go more often if I could get a reservation.

First off directions on Yelp are wrong. They took us to another lakeshore drive. When I called the front staff didn't know how to direct me...Strike one. Then we finally got here and we got squashed into a single table with three people. Strike two. Peeling lobster should be fun. The clam chowder was like paste and the noise level was way too high. Apparently folks in the Villages speak really, really loud. I have been to rock and rap concerts with lower decibels. You know it is bad when you have to yell your order to the wait staff. When I told the hostess (asssume the yellow shirt meant that) about the bad directions on Yelp she said.. .I don't use GPS...seriously ? Strike 3. I won't be coming back because it is too noisy, the staff doesn't care and the food is just so so. Red Lobster would have been better.

I went here on a night out with my man and I was really hoping for the best. I thought with the inspiring location and the reviews, it had a lot of potential. Imagine when I got there and and sat for 20 mins at my table for the servers to figure out who got our table. My man and I decided that we would try the fried pickles and go to red sauce where it was bound to hoppin'. I got them within in 10 mins and they were ok, nothing to wait half an hour for. The drink special was limited and the server seemed overworked. The coconut sauce was a better option for the fried pickles than the sauce that they put with the appetizer.

This is a fun and casual seaside restaurant! And the prices were pretty reasonable as well. I loved my scallops salad, they were cooked perfectly. The crab stuffed fish was something I've never tried before and would highly recommend. Also, the fries were cooked perfectly! The portabello mushroom burger was OK, but had extremely strong after taste of cheese (maybe feta?) The wait on a Friday for lunch was about 20 min. The one thing that was terrible was the water, it tasted like iodine. Maybe I'm just not used to Florida water? But I literally could not drink it. Very strange.

Went here while I was visiting my folks, very poor food. Poor cooking skills everything was greasy There where four of us and they messed up the order. First we all got the same soup, they bought out three soups half full bowls and told me there ran out of soup so I got a different type of soup that was full. So they really should have given us two soups... And two different types. O yeah the soup was bad. Then the entries came and they forgot to prepare one so the three other plates sat under a heat light and were trashed by the time they get out to the table The waitress kept handing the food the wrong way , passing it over the person next to me instead of walking around, it was kind of funning ... till the very hot plates started coming out Never came around and asked if any needed anything. To bad because it a very nice looking place on the water. Also they play music video with the music playing thru out the place down side it's the same 10-15 songs over and over. We came back and looooved our lunches. Tim waited on us and he was FANTASTIC! I ordered roast beef sandwich that was one of the best ones I have ever ever had!!! All the beef was done perfectly- rosey red, and delicious! With a nice bun and lettuce tomato it was just heaven. Hubby had carribean chicken sandwich that he loved too. Our friends had fish sandwich and turkey burger that they raved about too! Thanks! We'll be back!

Well 10 minutes later after staring at varieties of deep fried crap he returned, "I'll have a turkey burger!" We're out of turkey! Three strikes and I was out! So I left without getting anything. Will not return. If I do, I will pick out a minimum of 20 different items and call ahead first...but that's not gonna happen.

Very nice staff.. Boom boom shrimp is great! An enjoyable Villages restaurant. Wait can be very long but there are plenty of seats outside where you can sit with a drink from the bar. The menu had something for everyone in my party's tastes.
Our food was very good. Two people had the fried haddock with onion rings and coleslaw with pineapple, one person had the fried scallops, one person had jambalaya (it was a special), and I had the chicken Parmesan. The chicken was delicious, but I didn't love the red sauce. I am not deducting stars for that because I chose to order pasta at a seafood place :) However, the service was a little lacking. The hostess was short-tempered when we checked in after calling ahead, and our waiter rushed us. He tried to clear a plate from which someone was still eating and asked if we wanted coffee or dessert when the same person was still eating. When we said no, he brought our checks when...yup...she was still eating. They were very busy, but the service detracted from our enjoyment. Good food, so I'd go again if it was less crowded.

Our favorite place to dine in The Villages! You have to sit outside, though - it is a bit noisy inside. It's just a beautiful view sitting out on the water. Whenever friends or family come down from up north, we always make sure we take them to The Lighthouse for that Village experience! Never had a bad meal there.

Had their New England clam chowder and it was as good as any canned soup but nowhere near a real New England clam chowder ( I am from the Boston area). My next dish was the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage - at least that is what the menu said. I assume the ground meat in the sauce was the sausage! The dish was ok but nothing special. Basically, this place is OK - nothing more - nothing less.

It was a bad night - salad dressing down the back of my shirt, the shrimp cocktail was rubbery, and the clam chowder a bit salty. We've eaten here many times before for lunch & the food was always excellent. But, this time, bringing our friends and family for dinner, meaning to share with them our favorite seafood restaurant, was not enjoyable. The manager came by and apologized for the server's spill, and only said 'she's our best waitress so this is unusual.' That was it!
This place is right on Lake Sumpter with a great view of the Arnold Palmer course. I had the baked haddock with garlic spuds and pineapple cole slaw. I was well worth the $10.99 and like I said, the view was amazing! Friendly help who kept checking in on us and were prompt with service. Yeah, I'm a fan.

Local told us to eat here and only after Yelping, I agreed. Beautiful seating by the water, indoor or out. Service ok. Food was good, but could not eat fries and onion soup because of gluten. (which is unusual for Onion soup especially) Wish restaurants would list what type of fries they have, steak, seasoned, coated, etc. Good place for families, kids. Great first date place, not too fancy, comfy enough to chat, and you can stroll the romantic boardwalk after your meal. If you stroll toward the Villages main street, you can catch a movie and/or there is usually a live concert every evening. May return for a sunset meal next time I am in town.

Nice atmosphere on the water, very clean place. A bit noisy with a bunch of TV's over the bar. Six of us. Best pick was scallop scampi over fettuccine, lots of garlic, and perfectly braised scallops. Scallop salad next, two of those with fresh greens not iceberg and avocado with orange and onion. Plenty for a light dinner. Two orders of fried oysters with cheesy grits and maybe eggs as a binder very well seasoned. Also try the seafood bisque, which was well prepared with lots of crab. Everyone was pleased with their choices. Waitress was Chrystal who was attentive and nice. Good pick for a summer night out.

My husband and I arrived in Florida and decided to stop here and eat. The food was delicious!! We had the appetizer of fried pickles that were almost as good as you can get at home. I had the butterfish, which I have never tried before but it was amazing. My husband had the halibut and he enjoyed it as well. The staff were wonderful and attentive. Not too bad for The Villages. I have eaten here several times now while visiting the in-laws. Seafood is edible, but the folks that said this place has the best seafood they've ever had need to get out more!!! Fried and steamed shrimp are safe. Had the all-you-can-eat Alaskan King Crab Legs for $22 with fries and coleslaw. Crab was pretty darn good as was the coleslaw. The fries are kinda weird batter-dipped things... I'd pass on the fries.

I'll give this place three stars on the food, and 4.5 on the view. The view is really idyllic, palm trees reflect off the lake, golf course across the lake, and the Cape Cod inspired surroundings of Lake Sumter Landing are really beautiful, a gem nestled in this backward ass hick town. Food wise, it's like a TGI Fridays with a focus on fish. We only had three items but two out of three was terrible, while one was the 2nd best Shrimp and Grits I've ever had, so that was worth three stars on its own! The other dishes were calamari appetizer: half cooked in a bland doughy breading with tasteless marinara. Last dish was also half assed: the coconut shrimp. Not crispy fried, but rather sorta half fried, and the shrimp themselves were not flavorful. Sauce was good, a Mae Ploy variation. Service was half and half. Hostesses were super nice and helpful, and even asked how were things when I walked by to the restroom. Food runner was fast and friendly. Our waitress was clearly weeded and let it show, stopping only for a second after the food had been dropped off for 5 minutes already. I had to stop her retreat so that I could ask for items. Just a 10 second pause would've been all I needed to list requests, but because of the rush I forgot some things which made her make two trips instead of one. Partially my fault there I know, my apologies. When I mentioned we were less than satisfied with two of the dishes, our server had no response at all. Being thoroughly critical here because it looks like a halfway fun place to work and we will be coming back, just hoping for some small improvements. One final note, they have Fat Tire on tap. Deeelish.

This restaurant has two yelp sites for some strange reason - Wanted to warn yelpers Consistantly busy place BUT not good at all. SORRY ... My family and I went here the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2013 . We had gone 5 or 6 times over the last 4 years. This was totally disappointing ..The five of us had appetizers- clams and shrimp cocktails which some of which were okay but my Shrimp cocktail was overcooked and I sent it back.. Bloody Mary's were ok . Salads seemed limp and lifeless. We had five different main courses from lobster, steak , Shrimp scampi .etc .. We all felt the food was tasteless and had no taste of the ingredients. I guess their cooks have changed or they are so busy, they just don't care anymore. Surprised at lack of fresh vegetable selection and no baked potatoes - althought mashed or fried were on menu. Total bill was $ 129 plus tip. Service was acceptable , waitress was good - Just the food left a lot to be desired from what is supposed to be a good restaurant. Overall still very noisy place . but good view of the lake . Can't recommend anymore and won't be going back . We voted - worst dinner in none years living in Central Florida.

The best seafood in The Villages. Their lunch fish and chips is excellent. Large haddock or pollock (we usually order the haddock) and french fries that are fried in a unique way that makes them extra crunchy; they are always served fresh and very hot.. Excellent cole slaw. Cheap eats, a beautiful view, and possibly one of the top 3 best burgers my fiance has ever had!! I think that qualifies this restaurant as a "4". Like any good southern restaurant, they have a lot of deep fried everything. My favs were the onion straws and they had awesome french fries. While they have abundant amounts of seafood, my only complaint is that they have nearly no meatless/fish free meals. The only thing I could find on the menu for me was a salad or a quesadilla. That was disappointing. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful and quick with the free refills. Besides the burger (served on a toasted egg roll), the number 1 reason to give this place a try is to sit out on the back deck and enjoy your meal overlooking the lake. Just beautiful.

Lighthouse Point is a nice relaxed dining experience. Beautiful views of the lake set the scene and outdoor entertainment sets the mood. My wife and I both had house specials. She had a delicious fillet of fish with a spicy hollandaise sauce and I had a cheesy jambalaya style dish. Both dishes were delicious although I thought mine could have been a little more spicy. I quickly fixed that with some hot sauce. Lighthouse Point is worth a visit.

The Lighthouse has consistently good food with a great staff. They are always friendly and try to accommodate our seating requests. It is one of the best outdoor eating experiences in The Villages. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because of the indoor dining experience. If you must eat inside, it is way too noisy and the tables are a bit too close together. Since I last wrote I have gone to The Lighthouse 4-5 times, and I have found that the calamari, quesadilla and sweet potato fries are all great picks for appetizers. The music keeps getting better and the number of drunk villagers is steadily increasing, so get there early and park far away from the golf carts!

We went here on a Monday night around 7:00 and were subjected to both horrible service and terrible food. The waitress came to the table quickly after we sat and took our drink orders, then took about 20 minutes to deliver our drinks (bottled beers and water). It took another 35 minutes for our food to come out, despite the place being half empty at this point. The onion rings were soggy, the calimari was soggy, the crab cakes were awful, and the quesadillas were quite good. It took another 15 minutes for the waitress to bring us a take home box for the quesadillas. Either we caught this place on a bad night or everyone else who rated this place highly would find dog food tasty.

We decided to stop in and eat here while visiting friends in town. We were looking for a casual place with a nice view and we got exactly that. It was a Monday evening and the place was pleasantly busy. We were seated right away. Our server, Mike, was courteous and attentive. Our table ordered the fried oyster special, shrimp jambalaya, portobello and goat cheese burger and clam chowder. I loved my oysters and I chose to have the sweet potato fries which were neither greasy or soggy. I am a fan of jambalaya so I tasted my husbands and I thought it was fabulous and had a nice kick. The clam chowder was so thick that it looked like a bowl of mashed potatoes and while I do not like my chowder thick, my husband thought it was perfect. Our guest, who is a vegetarian, said she enjoyed her portobello burger. Food came out quickly, portions were large, prices were reasonable, food was fresh and drinks were cold and always full. What more can you ask for?

Would love to give it 4 stars but it falls short in too many ways. Had their New England clam chowder and it was as good as any canned soup but nowhere near a real New England clam chowder ( I am from the Boston area). My next dish was the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage - at least that is what the menu said. I assume the ground meat in the sauce was the sausage! The dish was ok but nothing special. Basically, this place is OK - nothing more - nothing less.

It was a bad night - salad dressing down the back of my shirt, the shrimp cocktail was rubbery, and the clam chowder a bit salty. We've eaten here many times before for lunch & the food was always excellent. But, this time, bringing our friends and family for dinner, meaning to share with them our favorite seafood restaurant, was not enjoyable. The manager came by and apologized for the server's spill, and only said 'she's our best waitress so this is unusual.' That was it!

The food is great. For an appetizer we had the tomato mozzarella pesto dish with avocado. For the entrée we had the platter for two, grilled with sweet potato fries. Then we had the brownie with ice cream and salted caramel dessert, which was surprisingly great. The server Maria was attentive and friendly. We came on a Sunday after the standard lunch time.

This place is right on Lake Sumpter with a great view of the Arnold Palmer course. I had the baked haddock with garlic spuds and pineapple cole slaw. I was well worth the $10.99 and like I said, the view was amazing! Friendly help who kept checking in on us and were prompt with service. Yeah, I'm a fan.

First time visitor and was impressed. Five different entrees which were all fresh and very good. Two standouts were the baked scallops and the butter-fish. So far this is the best restaurant I've been to in the Villages.

Local told us to eat here and only after Yelping, I agreed. Beautiful seating by the water, indoor or out. Service ok. Food was good, but could not eat fries and onion soup because of gluten. (which is unusual for Onion soup especially) Wish restaurants would list what type of fries they have, steak, seasoned, coated, etc. Good place for families, kids. Great first date place, not too fancy, comfy enough to chat, and you can stroll the romantic boardwalk after your meal. If you stroll toward the Villages main street, you can catch a movie and/or there is usually a live concert every evening. May return for a sunset meal next time I am in town.

Nice atmosphere on the water, very clean place. A bit noisy with a bunch of TV's over the bar. Six of us. Best pick was scallop scampi over fettuccine, lots of garlic, and perfectly braised scallops. Scallop salad next, two of those with fresh greens not iceberg and avocado with orange and onion. Plenty for a light dinner. Two orders of fried oysters with cheesy grits and maybe eggs as a binder very well seasoned. Also try the seafood bisque, which was well prepared with lots of crab. Everyone was pleased with their choices. Waitress was Chrystal who was attentive and nice. Good pick for a summer night out.

The LIghthouse offers consistently awesome food & service. As a local, who frequents only independent businesses ... I can honestly say that we return here again & again. It's a popular spot for watching the sunset so be prepared to wait 30-60 minutes ... Grab a drink, take a stroll & enjoy the wait!!! My husband and I arrived in Florida and decided to stop here and eat. The food was delicious!! We had the appetizer of fried pickles that were almost as good as you can get at home. I had the butterfish, which I have never tried before but it was amazing. My husband had the halibut and he enjoyed it as well. The staff were wonderful and attentive. I would defiantly go back here to eat again.

Absolutely the best seafood around for miles! Nice atmosphere on the lake. Can be a bit noisy when dining inside but we prefer out on the deck anyway. Their shrimp and grits is to die for! My husband always gets the huge haddock dinner. You can't beat the happy hour and daily speciality drinks either

Love the lighthouse.... Good service, lively atmosphere, good seafood. If warm, you can eat on the deck overlooking the lake... They even have good live music at times... Happy hour too! Reasonable prices. Give it a try...

Not too bad for The Villages. I have eaten here several times now while visiting the in-laws. Seafood is edible, but the folks that said this place has the best seafood they've ever had need to get out more!!! Fried and steamed shrimp are safe. Had the all-you-can-eat Alaskan King Crab Legs for $22 with fries and coleslaw. Crab was pretty darn good as was the coleslaw. The fries are kinda weird batter-dipped things... I'd pass on the fries.

I'll give this place three stars on the food, and 4.5 on the view. The view is really idyllic, palm trees reflect off the lake, golf course across the lake, and the Cape Cod inspired surroundings of Lake Sumter Landing are really beautiful, a gem nestled in this backward ass hick town. Food wise, it's like a TGI Fridays with a focus on fish. We only had three items but two out of three was terrible, while one was the 2nd best Shrimp and Grits I've ever had, so that was worth three stars on its own! The other dishes were calamari appetizer: half cooked in a bland doughy breading with tasteless marinara. Last dish was also half assed: the coconut shrimp. Not crispy fried, but rather sorta half fried, and the shrimp themselves were not flavorful. Sauce was good, a Mae Ploy variation. Service was half and half. Hostesses were super nice and helpful, and even asked how were things when I walked by to the restroom. Food runner was fast and friendly. Our waitress was clearly weeded and let it show, stopping only for a second after the food had been dropped off for 5 minutes already. I had to stop her retreat so that I could ask for items. Just a 10 second pause would've been all I needed to list requests, but because of the rush I forgot some things which made her make two trips instead of one. Partially my fault there I know, my apologies. When I mentioned we were less than satisfied with two of the dishes, our server had no response at all. Being thoroughly critical here because it looks like a halfway fun place to work and we will be coming back, just hoping for some small improvements. One final note, they have Fat Tire on tap. Deeelish.

I think this place is overrated. The staff is very friendly, the view is really nice but the food is average. We had the bisque which was very creamy but not very tasteful. The clam chowder was OK but could be more tasteful. The Boston platter was OK but too much deep fried fish. Not very healthy.

This restaurant has two yelp sites for some strange reason - Wanted to warn yelpers Consistantly busy place BUT not good at all. SORRY ... My family and I went here the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2013 . We had gone 5 or 6 times over the last 4 years. This was totally disappointing ..The five of us had appetizers- clams and shrimp cocktails which some of which were okay but my Shrimp cocktail was overcooked and I sent it back.. Bloody Mary's were ok . Salads seemed limp and lifeless. We had five different main courses from lobster, steak , Shrimp scampi .etc .. We all felt the food was tasteless and had no taste of the ingredients. I guess their cooks have changed or they are so busy, they just don't care anymore. Surprised at lack of fresh vegetable selection and no baked potatoes - althought mashed or fried were on menu. Total bill was $ 129 plus tip. Service was acceptable , waitress was good - Just the food left a lot to be desired from what is supposed to be a good restaurant. Overall still very noisy place . but good view of the lake . Can't recommend anymore and won't be going back . We voted - worst dinner in none years living in Central Florida.

The best seafood in The Villages. Their lunch fish and chips is excellent. Large haddock or pollock (we usually order the haddock) and french fries that are fried in a unique way that makes them extra crunchy; they are always served fresh and very hot.. Excellent cole slaw. We usually go there for lunch for the special fried fish basket. Very cheap.

Cheap eats, a beautiful view, and possibly one of the top 3 best burgers my fiance has ever had!! I think that qualifies this restaurant as a "4". Like any good southern restaurant, they have a lot of deep fried everything. My favs were the onion straws and they had awesome french fries. While they have abundant amounts of seafood, my only complaint is that they have nearly no meatless/fish free meals. The only thing I could find on the menu for me was a salad or a quesadilla. That was disappointing. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful and quick with the free refills. Besides the burger (served on a toasted egg roll), the number 1 reason to give this place a try is to sit out on the back deck and enjoy your meal overlooking the lake. Just beautiful.

Lighthouse Point is a nice relaxed dining experience. Beautiful views of the lake set the scene and outdoor entertainment sets the mood. My wife and I both had house specials. She had a delicious fillet of fish with a spicy hollandaise sauce and I had a cheesy jambalaya style dish. Both dishes were delicious although I thought mine could have been a little more spicy. I quickly fixed that with some hot sauce. Lighthouse Point is worth a visit.

The Lighthouse has consistently good food with a great staff. They are always friendly and try to accommodate our seating requests. It is one of the best outdoor eating experiences in The Villages. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because of the indoor dining experience. If you must eat inside, it is way too noisy and the tables are a bit too close together. We are never disappointed with the food or service here.

Since I last wrote I have gone to The Lighthouse 4-5 times, and I have found that the calamari, quesadilla and sweet potato fries are all great picks for appetizers. The music keeps getting better and the number of drunk villagers is steadily increasing, so get there early and park far away from the golf carts!

We went here on a Monday night around 7:00 and were subjected to both horrible service and terrible food. The waitress came to the table quickly after we sat and took our drink orders, then took about 20 minutes to deliver our drinks (bottled beers and water). It took another 35 minutes for our food to come out, despite the place being half empty at this point. The onion rings were soggy, the calimari was soggy, the crab cakes were awful, and the quesadillas were quite good. It took another 15 minutes for the waitress to bring us a take home box for the quesadillas. Either we caught this place on a bad night or everyone else who rated this place highly would find dog food tasty.

We decided to stop in and eat here while visiting friends in town. We were looking for a casual place with a nice view and we got exactly that. It was a Monday evening and the place was pleasantly busy. We were seated right away. Our server, Mike, was courteous and attentive. Our table ordered the fried oyster special, shrimp jambalaya, portobello and goat cheese burger and clam chowder. I loved my oysters and I chose to have the sweet potato fries which were neither greasy or soggy. I am a fan of jambalaya so I tasted my husbands and I thought it was fabulous and had a nice kick. The clam chowder was so thick that it looked like a bowl of mashed potatoes and while I do not like my chowder thick, my husband thought it was perfect. Our guest, who is a vegetarian, said she enjoyed her portobello burger. Food came out quickly, portions were large, prices were reasonable, food was fresh and drinks were cold and always full. What more can you ask for?

As far as ambience and service are concerned, I'd give 5 stars but I'm talking food. Love the fish and chips here, but are there better place in The Villages? Would Bonefish or T.J. Gators' be better for fish and chips? How about caramari? I like it lightly battered and juicy and soft, not chewy.
